June 16 2021 The Alpine Cowboys rallied for a 7-6 victory over the Roswell Invaders, scoring the go-ahead run in the ninth inning. Alpine finished with 11 hits and overcame a three-run Roswell fourth inning that gave the Invaders a 6-4 lead. The Cowboys answered with one run in the fifth and another in the sixth before taking the lead in the final inning.
Chandler Hughes led Alpine with three hits and three runs scored, while
James Prockish went 3-for-5 with an RBI.
Calvin Graves added two hits and scored three runs. Alpine’s other RBIs came from
Chris ONeal and Prockish. Roswell collected nine hits, with
Bret Leiferman and
Jakob Schuler recording two hits apiece.
Lance Myers had one hit and an RBI, while
Mike Flohr contributed two RBIs.
Jared Strait struck out six over four innings for Alpine, allowing eight hits and six runs, four earned.
