The Alpine Cowboys (8-2) jumped out to an early lead on the Douglas Diablos (3-5) and captured an 18-3 victory on Wednesday at Copper King Park.
Ten runs in the first three innings allowed the Alpine Cowboys to put the game away early. A two-run single by Corey Caswell during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Alpine Cowboys.
Tyler Heck went a perfect 5-5 at the plate for the Alpine Cowboys. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third, fourth, and seventh innings.
Jasper Adams struck out six hitters en route to the the Alpine Cowboys win. Adams allowed no earned runs on six hits and one walk over five innings.
Jake Hovis (1-1) took the loss for the Douglas Diablos. He allowed nine runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.
