July 29 2021 The Tucson Saguaros defeated the Alpine Cowboys 3-0 at Kokernot Field, holding Alpine to three hits while collecting 10 of their own. Tucson broke through with two runs in the fifth inning and added another in the seventh to complete the shutout victory.
Kendon Strachan went 2-for-3 with two runs scored an RBI and a home run for Tucson.
Danny Kerr added two hits, while
David Walker and
Kokko Figueiredo each drove in a run. Tucson finished with three RBI and committed no errors.
Duncan Snider delivered a complete-game performance for the Saguaros, allowing three hits and one walk over seven scoreless innings while striking out 14. Alpine starter
Jake Woods also worked seven innings, surrendering 10 hits and three earned runs without issuing a walk while striking out two. The Cowboys committed one error and went 0-for-3 with their limited offensive opportunities.
