Alpine Cowboys Rout Weimar Hormigas 24-6

June 11 2022 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Weimar Hormigas 24-6 at Kokernot Field, scoring 15 hits and taking control with a seven-run third inning. Alpine added runs in the fourth and fifth before scoring five in the sixth, seven in the seventh and three in the eighth. Weimar scored once in the third, four times in the sixth and once in the eighth while finishing with four hits.

Colton Whitehouse led Alpine with three hits, three runs and four RBI, including two doubles. Dylan Nolan added two hits, three runs and four RBI, while James Prockish had two hits, one run and two RBI. Sam Dreistadt scored three runs and drove in two, and Andrew Capone reached base six times with four walks while scoring four runs and collecting one RBI. Manny Garcia and Calvin Graves each scored three and two runs respectively, with Garcia adding a double.

Bryce Donovan earned the win after allowing two hits and one unearned run over five innings. He walked five and struck out eight. Alejandro Amezquita and Michael Castillo each worked scoreless outings, with Amezquita striking out two in one inning and Castillo striking out two over two innings.

Titus Beacham took the loss for Weimar after giving up seven runs five earned on seven hits in 2.1 innings. Weimar used seven pitchers in the game, and Alpine finished with 20 walks while striking out 12 times. Anthony Ward and Daryl Kelly each had one hit and one RBI for the Hormigas, while Weimars four-hit attack also included hits from Rodney Scarver and Minoru Ebisu.
