Alpine Cowboys Defeat Santa Fe Fuego 14-6

July 11 2022 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 14-6 at Kokernot Field. Alpine finished with 16 hits and no errors, while Santa Fe collected nine hits and committed four errors. The Cowboys took a 6-0 lead after two innings, scoring three runs in each of the first two frames, then added five runs in the fourth and one run in each of the sixth seventh and eighth innings.

Andrew Capone led Alpine with three hits, three runs, two RBI and a triple. Bryce Donovan also had three hits, scored three runs and drove in two, including a home run. James Prockish homered and had one RBI, while Matteo Avallone, Calvin Graves and Dylan Nolan each drove in a run. Alex Canty reached base four times with two hits and two walks.

Santa Fe scored three runs in the third inning and three more in the ninth. Dominick Pisano went 3-for-5 with two runs, three RBI and a home run, while Tyler Carpenter also homered and drove in a run. Manny Cachora had two hits and one RBI. Ridge Walker earned the win for Alpine after allowing six hits and three earned runs with four strikeouts in six innings, and Alejandro Amezquita worked the final three innings for the save. Ryan Schroeder took the loss after surrendering 11 hits and 10 earned runs in three innings.
