The Alpine Cowboys (27-12) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 4-2 to the Douglas Diablos (17-19) on Thursday.
While the Alpine Cowboys led until the ninth inning, the Douglas Diablos worked their way back and took the lead on a two-run single by Yuki Yasuda.
Jake Hovis picked up the win for the Douglas Diablos. Hovis pitched eight innings and allowed no earned runs, nine hits and three walks while striking out five.
Ryan Rogers couldnt get it done on the hill for the Alpine Cowboys, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
