Roswell Invaders Rally Past Alpine Cowboys 11-9

June 22 2023 The Roswell Invaders overcame an early deficit to defeat the Alpine Cowboys 11-9. Alpine scored four runs in the first inning and three in the second to take a 7-2 lead, but Roswell answered with three runs in the third and a six-run fourth inning to move in front 11-7. Roswell held Alpine to one run in each of the sixth and seventh innings and finished with an 11-9 victory.

Roswell collected 11 hits and was led by Jaden Burns, who drove in three runs, while Seth Schroeder and Dillan Smith each added two RBI. Schroeder reached base four times with two hits and two walks, and Tom Shirai and Micah Walker each had two hits. Alpine had 15 hits, including three from Andrew Capone. Aldo Buendia drove in four runs, James Prockish and Mark Traylor each had two RBI, and Manny Garcia had three hits.

Humberto Vela earned the win for Roswell after allowing 14 hits and nine runs in 6.1 innings, while striking out six and walking one. Alex Bolton worked 1.2 scoreless innings, and Jonathan Fleckenstein pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save. Shane Hykin took the loss for Alpine after surrendering eight earned runs on seven hits in 3.2 innings with seven walks and two strikeouts.
