Roswell Invaders Outslug Alpine Cowboys 11-9

June 23 2023 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Alpine Cowboys 11-9 at Joe Bauman Park, overcoming an early Alpine lead with a six-run second inning. Roswell finished with 13 hits and scored in six of the first seven innings, while Alpine collected 11 hits and committed two errors compared with three for Roswell.

Colton Adams led Roswell with two hits, including a triple and a home run, three RBI, one run and two walks. Seth Schroeder went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, while Rodney Tennie scored twice and drove in two runs with one hit and two walks. Jaden Burns added two RBI and Lance Myers contributed a hit and an RBI.

Andrew Capone powered Alpine’s offense by going 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, three runs and two RBI. Josh Rego also collected three hits and drove in two runs. Alpine scored twice in the first, once in the third and five times in the fifth to cut Roswell’s lead to 10-8, but the Invaders added a run in the sixth and held off a seventh-inning Alpine run.

Ian Concevitch earned the win after allowing one run on four hits in 3.2 innings while striking out five. Jonathan Fleckenstein recorded the save with a hitless inning, one walk and one strikeout. Alpine starter Brayde Hirai took the loss after surrendering nine runs on nine hits in three innings, with seven earned runs, two walks and three strikeouts.
