Roswell Invaders Hold Off Alpine Cowboys 7-6

June 24 2023 The Roswell Invaders held off the Alpine Cowboys 7-6 in a back-and-forth game at Joe Bauman Park. Roswell erased an early 2-0 deficit with a four-run second inning and added single runs in the fourth fifth and seventh innings to build a 7-4 lead. Alpine scored once in the eighth and once in the ninth but could not complete the comeback.

Josh Rego led Alpine’s 14-hit attack by going 4-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. Manny Garcia went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI while Kam Holland added a two-run homer and finished 2-for-3 with an RBI. Mark Traylor also drove in two runs for the Cowboys.

Roswell collected 10 hits, with Seth Schroeder Dillan Smith and John Tuttle recording two hits apiece. Tom Shirai Robert Morosetti Jaden Burns and Rodney Tennie each drove in a run, while Smith and Tuttle scored twice for the Invaders.

Anthony Moore earned the win after allowing 10 hits and four earned runs in six innings with three strikeouts and two walks. Alex Bolton worked two innings and Jonathan Fleckenstein recorded the save despite allowing one run in the ninth. Danny Sullivan took the loss for Alpine after giving up nine hits and six runs in five innings, with two earned runs, five walks and five strikeouts.
