Roswell Invaders Edge Alpine Cowboys in 11 Innings

June 26 2023 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Alpine Cowboys 10-9 in 11 innings at Joe Bauman Park. Roswell collected 15 hits and Alpine finished with 17, but the Invaders scored twice in the 11th inning to answer Alpine’s one-run frame and secure the victory.

Alpine built a 4-1 lead with a four-run second inning before Roswell responded with three runs in the fourth. The Invaders added two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to take a 7-6 lead. Alpine tied the game with two runs in the seventh, and both teams scored once in the ninth before the decisive 11th inning.

Roswell’s Seth Schroeder went 5-for-6 with three runs, two walks, one RBI and a home run. Rodney Tennie added four hits, two runs, one walk and two stolen bases. Tom Shirai drove in two runs, while Colton Adams also had two RBI. For Alpine, Josh Rego went 3-for-4 with two walks and three runs, Drake Angeron was 3-for-6, and James Prockish went 2-for-5 with three runs, two RBI and Alpine’s home run.

Ian Concevitch earned the win for Roswell after allowing two hits and one run in one inning. Jonathan Fleckenstein worked two scoreless innings, and Alex Bolton and Anthony Moore each added a scoreless inning. Connor Kelly took the loss for Alpine after giving up two runs, one earned, on two hits in 1 2/3 innings. Roswell overcame four errors, while Alpine committed three.
