Alpine Cowboys Rout Santa Fe Fuego 30-10

July 7 2023 The Alpine Cowboys overwhelmed the Santa Fe Fuego 30-10 in a high-scoring game. Alpine collected 31 hits and scored in eight of nine innings while Santa Fe finished with 11 hits and committed two errors. Alpine broke open the game with a six-run third inning after taking a 2-3 deficit into the frame. The Cowboys added two runs in the fourth, three in the fifth and five in the sixth to build a 18-9 advantage. They continued to pull away with four runs in the seventh, two in the eighth and six in the ninth. Santa Fe scored five times in the sixth but could not close the gap. James Prockish led Alpine with five hits in seven at-bats, two home runs and 10 RBI. Jeff Disla added three hits, a home run and four RBI, while Jake Sisto went 4-for-5 with two home runs and six RBI. Drake Angeron had three hits, five runs and three RBI with a home run, and Cade Biddle reached base five times with three hits and two walks. Danny Sullivan earned the win for Alpine after allowing nine runs on seven hits in 5.1 innings while striking out eight and walking six. Jesse Garcia followed with 1.2 scoreless innings and two strikeouts. Jordan Benson took the loss for Santa Fe after surrendering eight runs in 2.1 innings. Karl Koeper paced the Fuego offense with three hits, including two doubles and a home run, while Maurice La Fon and Humberto Maldonado each drove in three runs with a home run apiece.
