It took 13 innings, but the Alpine Cowboys (40-18) managed to put away the White Sands Pupfish (24-28) 7-5 on Tuesday at Griggs Park.
With the score tied at five, Dan Thorpe came to the plate and singled, bringing home Matt Henrickson.
Casanova Donaldson had a hot bat for the Alpine Cowboys. Donaldson went 3-7, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the fifth and thirteenth innings.
Andrew Shoemaker pitched lights out for the Alpine Cowboys. The White Sands Pupfish managed just one hit off of Shoemaker, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his three innings of work.
The Alpine Cowboys lineup had no answer for Justin Martinez. Martinez held the Alpine Cowboys hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.
Scotty Hong got the win, running his season record to 3-1. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered no hits.
Eli Nickell (0-1) took the loss for the White Sands Pupfish. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
