August 3 2023 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Alpine Cowboys 10-8 after building an early lead and holding off a late Alpine comeback. Trinidad scored four runs in the second inning, added two in the third and four in the fourth to take a 10-0 advantage. Alpine answered with one run in the fifth, five in the sixth, one in the seventh and one in the eighth, but could not complete the comeback.
Trinidad collected 11 hits, including home runs by J. Rooks and J. Anderson. P. Pena went 3-for-4 with three RBI, while Q. Arrington had two hits, a double, two walks, two runs and one RBI. Anderson scored three runs and drew three walks, and J. Urena added a double. Alpine finished with 13 hits, led by A. Canty, who went 4-for-5 with a home run, two runs and one RBI. J. Prockish homered and drove in two runs, while J. Sisto had two hits and two RBI.
Ben Kowalski earned the win for Trinidad after allowing 10 hits and six earned runs in five innings while striking out six.
Garrett Brown recorded the save with two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out three.
Cameron Mulvihill took the loss for Alpine, giving up six runs, five earned, on six hits in 2.1 innings.
