July 13 2024 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Alpine Cowboys 12-5, scoring six runs in the first inning and adding single runs in the second and third before a four-run fifth. Alpine answered with four runs in the fourth and one in the ninth, but Roswell’s early advantage held. Roswell finished with 12 hits while Alpine collected 11. Luis Moreno led Roswell with two hits, three runs and four RBI, including his third triple of the season. Jose Sanchez went 4-for-5 with a double and three RBI, while Robert Malone and Jonathan Cavazos each had two hits and drove in a run. Josh Walker added a hit, a run and an RBI. Alpine’s Johnny Medina went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI, and Drew Bayard had two hits and one RBI. Miguel Sierra earned the win for Roswell after allowing seven hits and four earned runs over seven innings with two walks and three strikeouts. Jafet Palma worked a scoreless inning with two strikeouts, and Wilbur Rodriguez finished the game with one earned run allowed and three strikeouts. Alpine starter Brendan May took the loss after surrendering seven hits and eight earned runs in three innings.
