Pecos Bills Beat Alpine Cowboys 9-4

July 2 2025 The Pecos Bills defeated the Alpine Cowboys 9-4 at Cyclone Ballpark. Pecos collected 12 hits and scored in six innings, while Alpine finished with 10 hits and four runs. The Bills also took advantage of Alpine’s lone fielding error.

Pecos jumped ahead 3-0 in the first inning and added another run in the second to build a 4-1 lead. The Bills scored three more times in the fourth, then added single runs in the fifth and sixth to pull away. Alpine scored once in the second, third, fifth and seventh innings but could not close the gap.

Peter Jelenic led the Bills’ offense by going 3-for-4 with two home runs, three runs scored and four RBIs. Greg Borges added two hits, including a home run, with two runs and one RBI. Nick Capozzi scored twice and drew two walks, while Kolton Kendrick and Wyatt Morgan each contributed a hit and an RBI.

Adam Metivier earned the win after allowing 10 hits and four earned runs in eight innings. He walked three and struck out four. Zach Hill completed the game with a scoreless ninth inning and one strikeout. Alpine starter Jacob Bradley took the loss after surrendering nine hits and eight earned runs in five innings, with three walks and one strikeout.
