Derrick Fox collected three hits as the Alpine Cowboys (5-1) took home an 8-4 victory over the Las Cruces Vaqueros (0-5) at Apodoca Park on Monday. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third and ninth innings.

Josh Cruse picked up the win for the Alpine Cowboys. Cruse pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and two walks while striking out four.

Nick Howell got on base two times in the game for the Las Cruces Vaqueros. He scored one run and had one RBI. He tripled in the ninth inning.

James Taylor was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in seven innings, walked one and struck out eight.
