Roswell Invaders Rally Past Alpine Cowboys 7-4

June 24 2016 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Alpine Cowboys 7-4 after scoring four runs in the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie. Roswell finished with 10 hits and took advantage of three Alpine errors, while Alpine recorded eight hits and one error.

Cody Bishop led the Invaders with two hits, including a home run, and three RBI. Cody Coffman added a double, two runs and one RBI, while Roche Woodard had two hits and scored once. Roswell also received two hits and one RBI from pitcher Blake Oliver.

Alpine’s Jon Denney went 2-for-4 with a home run and one RBI, and Matt Henriksen had two hits, including a double, with one RBI. Eric Ferguson drove in two runs for the Cowboys. Alpine scored once in the second, fourth, sixth and ninth innings, but could not overcome Roswell’s four-run seventh.

Oliver earned the win after allowing seven hits and three runs over 7.1 innings while striking out seven and walking four. Lance Fairchild recorded the save with 1.2 innings of relief, allowing one hit and one run while striking out four. Korie Vire took the loss for Alpine after surrendering three hits and four earned runs in one-third of an inning.
