2017 will be the 7th season for the Cowboys in the Pecos League. Modern Pro Baseball was first brought back to Alpine in 2009. The Cowboys entered the Pecos League in 2011. The Cowboys will play seven different teams in 2017 which is the most variety they have ever had. The Cowboys will remain in Mountain Division with the Santa Fe Fuego, Roswell Invaders, White Sands Pupfish, Trinidad Triggers and Garden City Wind.
In 2017 the Pecos League is closest ever to a fully balanced schedule. The Alpine Cowboys will play 32 home games and 32 away games.
The Cowboys open the regular season at home on May 25th in Alpine against the Roswell Invaders. The Cowboys play their annual 4th of July game at home against the White Sands Pupfish.
