Alpine Cowboys Rally Past Garden City Wind 8-4

July 16 2017 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Garden City Wind 8-4 behind a pair of four-run innings. Alpine scored four times in the third inning and added four more runs in the ninth to finish with nine hits, while Garden City collected six hits and committed four errors.

Nick Delgado led Alpine with two hits, one run and one RBI. Crisford Adames, Seth Douglas and John Giakas also drove in runs for the Cowboys, while Paul Ludden, Angel Martinez, B. Pugh, JJ Graham and Adames each scored once, with Ludden scoring twice. Garden City’s Mike Rachun supplied the bulk of the offense with two hits, two runs and four RBIs, including a two-run home run in the second inning.

Lukas McDonough worked seven innings for Alpine, allowing four runs on four hits with three walks and seven strikeouts. Beau Blair earned the win with two scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out four. Garden City starter Trent Carrier took the loss after allowing six runs, four earned, on seven hits in 8 1/3 innings, while Jack Finnegan surrendered two runs in the ninth.
