4/7/2013-Dear Friends:
This is a second call for volunteers; guy and gals included, to complete the work begun last Thursday and Friday; that is to help scrape and prime some of the seats at Kokernot on behalf of the Alpine '06' Cowboys and the history of Kokernot baseball. The work is continuing Monday morning at 10:00 am and is coordinated by Kristin Cavness, Cowboy's GM and #1 volunteers, Jerry and Carole Teeples (of the Cow Bell Gang).
Most of the seats requiring immediate attention in the first 3 or so front rows have been scraped and sanded ... many primed. No, we won't be painting; but the before work is in the hands of volunteers. Remaining is getting to those seats needing spot attention and with a few extra hands, there won't be all that many remaining to do.
Let me know if you'll be able to make it; but call Jerry at either 432-837-3070 or 386-0727 to see what he needs in addition to our help. Among the things, I suppose a long sleeve shirt for the remaining chair seats in the sun; sun screen; gloves and hat to keep the saw dust at bay. If someone has a disc sander with a very course grade of sand paper, that would be very good, too.
Jerry has provided some of the equipment, paid for sheets of sandpaper and hauled a chest of cold beverages. Last Friday, I chipped-in for lunch at Subways. We've had a good time and a sense of accomplishment.
Love to see you on Monday morning at the stadium.
Peace, love and blessings,
Barry
PS The Thursday crew was on ESPN!!
Thank you!
