July 5 2018 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Alpine Cowboys 4-3 in 11 innings at Joe Bauman Park. Roswell scored once in the second inning, once in the ninth, and added single runs in the 10th and 11th innings to secure the victory. Alpine scored twice in the fourth and once in the 10th but was held scoreless in the 11th.
Nolan Hoff led Roswell’s offense by going 4-for-5 with one RBI. Ben Portelli went 1-for-3 with a walk and hit a home run for Roswell, driving in one run.
Logan Coughlin added a double and scored once, while
Justin Byrd and
Jordan Ackerman also scored for the Invaders. Roswell finished with eight hits and seven walks.
Alpine also collected eight hits.
Lance Myers went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a double, while
Seth Douglas hit a solo home run and finished with one RBI.
Caleb Davidson added a triple and an RBI, and
Paul Ludden scored once and drew a walk.

Ben Mckendall worked eight innings, allowing five hits and two earned runs while striking out 10.
Lance Fairchild pitched two innings and allowed one run with four strikeouts before
Preston Bailey worked a scoreless 11th to earn the win. Alpine starter
Cody Remore allowed six hits and one earned run in 6 1/3 innings with four strikeouts, but
Matt Terrones was charged with the loss after allowing the deciding run in the 11th.
