June 13 2019 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the White Sands Pupfish 14-5 after collecting 14 hits and scoring in seven different innings. Alpine broke open the game with five runs in the second inning, added two runs in each of the third and fourth, and maintained control with single runs in the fifth through seventh innings before adding two more in the eighth. White Sands scored twice in the second and once each in the third fifth and eighth innings.
W. Little led Alpine with three hits in five at-bats, including a home run and a triple, while driving in four runs and scoring twice. C. Scura went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. B. Gonzalez added two hits and two RBI, and E. Gallego drove in a run. Alpine also received two-hit efforts from M. Traylor and Terrell Walker.
Walker earned the win after allowing four hits and four runs over five innings. Only two of the runs were earned, and he struck out 10 while walking five. A. Stephens followed with three innings, allowing two hits and one run, and Jake Woods worked a scoreless ninth.
Chris Jimenez took the loss for White Sands after surrendering seven hits and seven runs in 2.2 innings, with five runs earned. M. Stanbery allowed seven hits and seven runs over 6.1 innings. White Sands finished with six hits, led by one hit each from T. Brown, S. Miyata, P. Newsom, E. Trischitta and A. Chirino, while T. Blair drove in both of the Pupfishs RBI.
