August 8 2021 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Alpine Cowboys 6-5 at Kokernot Field, overcoming a late Alpine rally to secure the win. Roswell collected 13 hits and committed no errors, while Alpine finished with nine hits and one error.

Alpine scored once in the first inning, but Roswell answered with four runs in the third. The Invaders added another run in the fourth to take a 5-3 lead. Alpine tied the game with two runs in the seventh before Roswell pushed across the decisive run in the ninth.

Lance Myers led Roswell with three hits, two RBI and a walk, while Bret Leiferman went 2-for-5 with two RBI. Colton Adams added two hits and scored twice, and Jakob Schuler had two hits and one RBI. Roswell built its largest lead with a four-run third inning and added runs in the second fourth sixth and 10th innings. Alpine answered with three runs in the fifth three more in the eighth and two in the 10th to secure the victory. The Cowboys also scored once in the first and fourth innings.

Alex Canty led Alpine with two hits including a double three RBI two runs and two walks. James Prockish went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI, while Joel Barraza added three hits and Josh Laurie scored three runs. For Roswell, Robert Morosetti collected four hits and Colton Adams had two hits two runs and one RBI. Cole Chambers hit a solo home run and drove in three runs.

Alpine built an 8-2 lead through six innings with one run in the second, one in the third, four in the fifth and two in the sixth. Christian Armstrong went 4-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, while Bryce Donovan added three hits and an RBI. Mark Traylor contributed two hits and three RBI, and Tylor Frailey scored three runs with two hits.

Tucson’s offense surged in the eighth, sending six runs across to tie the game at 8-8. David Walker, Danny Kerr and Kokko Figueiredo each recorded two or more hits, with Walker going 3-for-5 and Kerr going 3-for-5. Figueiredo drove in two runs, while Kendon Strachan also had two RBI.

Trinidad jumped ahead 6-0 in the first inning and added four runs in the third and three in the fourth. Alpine answered with a three-run third and scored twice in the sixth, but the Triggers maintained their advantage before both teams produced a big eighth inning. Alpine scored eight runs in the eighth while Trinidad added six to complete the scoring.

Jordan Gonzalez led Trinidad with three hits four runs and four RBI including a home run. Robbie Kellerman went 3-for-5 with three runs and an RBI while Christian Briscoe added three hits and three RBI. Yale Hughes scored four runs and drove in two. Trinidad also homered through Gonzalez Briscoe and Brett Shartzer.

Bryce Donovan drove in six runs for Alpine and homered while Josh Laurie went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Christian Armstrong added three hits four runs and two RBI with a home run and a double. Alpine also received home runs from Chris ONeal and Donovan.

Kokko Figueiredo went 5-for-7 with four RBI and three runs for Tucson, while BJ Minarcin finished 5-for-7 with four runs. Nick Hamilton went 4-for-4 with four runs and three RBI, Gabe Wurtz added three hits and three RBI, and Rod Dobbs scored four runs with three RBI. Wurtz hit a home run, as did Dobbs and Hamilton. June 3 2021 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Tucson Saguaros 11-3 at Kokernot Field. Alpine collected 13 hits and scored in the fourth fifth sixth and eighth innings, while Tucson finished with four hits and scored twice in the sixth and once in the ninth.

Alpine’s seven-run sixth inning turned the game in the Cowboys’ favor. Chandler Hughes went 3-for-5 with a home run double two runs and four RBIs, while James Prockish added two hits, including a triple and a double, with two RBIs. Tylor Frailey scored three runs and went 2-for-3 with two walks. Alex Westman contributed a two-run hit as a pinch-hitter.

Leo Gallegos hit Tucson’s only home run and drove in two runs. Gallegos finished 1-for-3 with a walk, while Gabe Wurtz and Nick Hamilton each had one hit for the Saguaros.

Jake Voss earned the win for Alpine after allowing two runs on two hits in six innings, with one walk and four strikeouts. Alejandro Amezquita recorded the save, pitching three innings and allowing one run on two hits with four walks and four strikeouts. Duncan Snider took the loss for Tucson after surrendering six runs, five earned, on eight hits in 5.1 innings.

June 2 2021 The Tucson Saguaros defeated the Alpine Cowboys 19-14 in a high-scoring game at Kokernot Field. Tucson finished with 21 hits and scored in seven innings, while Alpine collected 15 hits and committed four errors.

Gabe Wurtz led Tucson’s offensive attack, going 4-for-5 with three home runs, three runs scored and six RBI. Kokko Figueiredo added three hits, including a home run, with three RBI, while Jordan Yu went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Tucson broke the game open with seven runs in the sixth inning and added three more in the eighth.

Alpine received three hits and two runs from Tylor Frailey, while Andrew Fregia had three hits and scored three times. Bryce Donovan drove in four runs on two hits, and Chris ONeal contributed two RBI and a triple. The Cowboys scored six times in the first inning and four times in the third and ninth but could not overcome Tucson’s sustained offense.

Jordan Yu earned the win for Tucson after allowing four runs on six hits with five strikeouts and two walks in 4.2 innings. Jesse Palafox followed with two scoreless innings and three strikeouts. Jake Woods took the loss for Alpine, allowing 10 runs on 12 hits in four innings.
